This is something to discuss with your counsellor during your initial consultation. You can choose to have time-limited therapy (12 sessions) if you’d like to focus on a specific issue, or open-ended therapy to allow for more exploration and depth. Either way, you and your counsellor will review regularly to discuss how things are going and for how long you’d like to continue therapy.
-
If therapy isn’t helping, we encourage you to discuss this with your counsellor first. Following this, you might continue working together or decide to try a different counsellor or type of therapy. You might also choose to discontinue therapy altogether. Whatever you decide, we’ll do our best to offer support as needed.
